A Dream of Life in the Light
Henningsvær Lighthouse Could Be Yours

Imagine a place where time moves a little slower. Where nature’s rhythm sets the pace, and the wind carries stories from generations of fishermen and artists.
Henningsvær Lighthouse – one of Norway’s most iconic lighthouses – is now for sale.

Perched high on the outer edge of the sea beyond Henningsvær, the restored lighthouse and its accompanying buildings stand proud. Here, there is room for life. For laughter. For warm meals around long tables, and peaceful evenings with hot cocoa and northern lights. Now you have the chance to own something far more than a property – you can have a sanctuary for the soul.

– This is a truly unique property with a location that speaks for itself. It sits at the edge of the sea with well-preserved buildings

Henningsvær and the lighthouse are beautiful year-round. The accessibility to the charming town of Henningsvær is a big plus. The town, with its cozy eateries, vibrant cultural life – and, of course, the mountains – is just a short walk away.

Much can be said to describe this property, but it must be experienced to truly understand its essence

– Thomas Klovland, Real estate agent at PrivatMegleren

Et sted for store øyeblikk

Her kan familielivet blomstre. Barna kan utforske fjæra, fiske krabber og lære å leve i takt med naturen. De voksne kan finne ro og ny inspirasjon, kanskje til og med kombinere hjemmekontor med fuglesang og bølgeskvulp.

This lighthouse is located in one of the most spectacular places in the world where you can see the entire Nordland and Lofoten coastline. There are so many ways to use this place: world-class golf nearby, kayaking in the summer, climbing all year round, and backcountry skiing in the winter

– says Rolf Hoff, who has owned Henningsvær Lighthouse with his wife Venke for over 30 years

Award-Winning Preservation

When the couple and art collectors bought the lighthouse in 1997, it was featured on national TV news, and apart from two replaced windows, the property had remained completely unchanged since the 1850s. It lacked both water and electricity, and the following years were largely spent on extensive restoration work.

Rolf designed the bathroom, which comes from Bulthaup and is located in the old barn. All walls and even the original colors were preserved in the houses. When the work was finished, a feature about Henningsvær Lighthouse was produced by Toppen Bech for NRK, confirming that even a lighthouse can be truly stately.

This place is for people who know how to appreciate natural qualities. We received support from the National Trust of Norway for the restoration, and the property is environmentally protected by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage. Henningsvær Lighthouse even won a preservation award – not bad for two southerners, laughs Rolf

Four Buildings, One Harmony

The property includes a main house, guest house, bathhouse, and boathouse – each with its own soul. The main house is spacious and homely, with warm floors and retro details that remind us of the value of simplicity and authenticity. From here, a large terrace leads you to perhaps the most spectacular view in all of Lofoten.

The guest house is perfect for family and friends, or perhaps as a studio or workspace? The bathhouse includes both a sauna and a modern bathroom with sea views, while the charming boathouse down by the water offers a world of its own for four lucky guests.

From the private pier, you can set sail toward the horizon – or just cast a line and wait for dinner.

A Lighthouse with Heart and History

Since 1857, Henningsvær Lighthouse has been a guiding light in the dark. A beacon for fishermen, a source of inspiration for artists, and a refuge for royalty and life-lovers from around the world. The lighthouse has undergone a grand restoration, always with deep respect for its history.
The result is a stately place where past and present merge, and where every corner tells a story.

Rolf and Venke Hoff have dedicated over 30 years to this place. They have opened its doors to art, love, and culture – and now, they wish to pass the torch. To someone who wants to *use* the place, not just own it. To someone who dreams of a life in the light.

A Rare Opportunity

Buying Henningsvær Lighthouse is not just an investment in property. It is an investment in quality of life. A rare offer to live surrounded by the greatness of nature – without giving up comfort and accessibility.

If you’re looking for a place to gather family and friends, host events, create art, rent out, or simply *be* – then this property is a gift.

Welcome to Henningsvær Lighthouse.
